These are the people who have dedicated a part of their free time to helping out Team Brophy, to raise as much money as possible for Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research through Ben's crazy challenge! Feel free to get in contact with them if you have any questions or ideas about any aspect of the challenge through the contact form!
"I'm Ben Brophy, I am currently studying at Aston University on the Accounting for Management Course. I have tried to stay healthy and am currently the chairman of the Gaelic Football Club. I have organised funding events in the past, however nothing on this scale! I have always enjoyed pushing myself and swimming the English Channel is said to be one of the most mentally and physically exerting challenges you can do. Throughout the challenge, I will be supported by a team of people, as well as many other helpful individuals, who have their own skills and strengths to offer to the team. We aim to raise awareness of Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research, whilst also raising as much money as possible!"
Team Co-ordinator / Head Promotion Officer
Hi guys, firstly thanks for checking out what Ben is up to, it is a fantastic challenge for a fantastic cause. As for me, I'm here to help Team Brophy to realise their potential and maximise the money we can raise through providing organisational support and corporate relations.
Events Co-ordinator / Motivational Officer
Hi, I'm Ben, the loudmouthed one of the group. I'm reading human and applied biology, and Ben picked me to be on this team because I'm always inspiring optimism and fun in the group, so I hope to encourage Ben with both the carrot and the stick to reach his goals!
'Ello am James, typical northern guy, trying to give as much support as i can to Ben on his fantastic challenge. Whether its pestering him about his training or pestering people whilst fundraising, I'm trying to drum up interest and support to the cause. So come on guys become a part of beating blood cancers today.
My name's Katie Pepper, currently studying chemistry at Aston Uni. I am going to be part of the promo team so hopefully will get to know you soon either around campus or at one of the events through the year. Very excited to be doing something worthwhile as I believe wholeheartedly in this charity and can't wait to raise lots of money doing great things. And hopefully we will have a lot of fun along the way!
Events Co-ordinator / Motivational Officer
Good day to all. My name is Liam - better known to many as Jager. I'm in my second year at Aston where I am studying English Language - definitely the best degree university has to offer. As part of the promotions mob for Team Brophy, I'll be coming round to pester the hell out of everyone for generous donations to go towards a very worthwhile cause that will hopefully help Broph to make it across the Channel to France. So, dig deep and join us in supporting Ben and his quest into swimming legacy!
Hi, I'm Louisa and I'm currently studying English Language at Aston University alongside Ben. I am enormously glad to have been asked to help out fundraising and encouraging people to donate as it is clearly for a very good cause and deserves to make a lot of money, for a very worthy purpose, raising money for Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research.
Hi I'm Matt, it's my job to keep track of the cost of all events and promotions and make sure Team Brophy reaches all of it's fundraising targets. I am very excited to be involved with this great cause and help Ben in the fight against Leukaemia and Lymphoma.
Social Media Officer
Hey there, my name's Matt I'm responsible for publicising Brophy's channel crossing across multiple social media sites. I am thrilled to be a part of this team and remain committed in helping Ben complete his tremendous challenge, and battle blood cancers.
Hello everyone! I'm basically here to help with all the technical aspects of Team Brophy, making sure everything stays up to date and (most importantly!) interesting. It is an epic challenge and all for a great cause, and I'm really excited to be part of it.
As well as the central team, there have also been many others who have been extremely helpful who we would all like to say a massive thank you to:
